How to get more FPS on the Steam Machine
- Resolution
Valve relies on FSR upscaling for 4K; without it 1080p–1440p is more stable. Pick the resolution for the game, not for the TV. - FSR upscaling
FSR or XeSS in Quality/Balanced is the main way to get 4K on a TV; DLSS is not available on AMD graphics. - Preset
High is a good starting point at 1080p; at 1440p and 4K start from Medium. - Frame cap
On a 60 Hz TV cap at 60 or 30 FPS for even frame pacing; with a VRR monitor you can raise the cap.
